Win a $1,000 scholarship from ASI The Woodlands

High school and college students: ASI wants to know what your community means to you. Show us the Woodlands/Conroe area through your eyes and have the chance to win a $1000 scholarship from ASI! What do you love? What attracts others to your community? What makes this a special place?

While you’re traveling around your community, take some photos and share them with us!

How the contest works:

Submit three photos that you’ve taken. Each photo needs to include a title and a brief 100-word description explaining why that photo screams “my community” to you.

The judging committee will choose three photos to be declared as the winning photos. Participants may have up to three photos selected as winning photos; therefore they can win more than one prize. All winning photos will be enlarged and scaled to 8’ x 8’ and will be permanently displayed in our ASI Woodlands location.

Top three winners will receive scholarships; amounts vary.

  • Grand-prize winner: $1000
  • Second place: $500
  • Third place: $250

Photos must be taken with a high-resolution digital camera. Photos must be taken by the participant and need be current (taken during 2011-12 in the Woodlands/Conroe community). One submission of three photos is allowed per person. All photos will be eligible for voting.

Final submissions (each photo) must be in following format or greater:

  • 300 dpi;
  • a TIFF or JPG file;
  • dimensions of 8″x8″;
  • must not to exceed 100 MB file size.

Remember anything goes—the school’s football team, a famous statue, the oldest building or whatever else stands out to you. Have fun and be creative!
